JazzAscona 2020, a stage and project dedicated to young musicians
With JazzAscona Groovin'up a unique opportunity for young musicians around the world aged 18 to 25 - Sign up as fast as you can, at the latest by December 15, 2019.
The first news of 2020 is Groovin'up, an artistic-didactic project entirely dedicated to young musicians aged 18 to 25 (the average age of the groups must not exceed 25 years). The festival wants to offer them the opportunity to perform on an important stage like the one of JazzAscona, while – at the same time – taking part in a training course that can help them promote their talent and grow artistically and professionally.
Specifically, one of the four main stages along the lakeside, will be dedicated to said performances: the musicians, who will be staying in the welcoming spaces at Collegio Papio, where they will receive room and board, will participate in workshops, jam sessions, concerts and meetings with the many experienced musicians who participate in the festival.
How to participate:
simply register on the Mx3.ch platform (Swiss bands and artists) or on "Groovin'up" Facebook Group (International bands and artists); and post a video of a recent live performance.
The technical quality and location of the video are irrelevant to the programmers (you can simply film with your mobile phone in your rehearsal room!).
Considered genres are Jazz, Blues, Funk, Soul, Folk, Pop, Rock, Singer-Songwriter and the like.
To all the young music talents around the world: sign up as fast as you can, at the latest by December 15, 2019!

The Groovin'up project will be documented through interviews and film footage produced by the International Conservatory of Audiovisual Sciences (CISA) students.
The festival's uniqueness, resources as well as infrastructure will thus be made available to young musicians and filmmakers, allowing them to refine and put their talents into practice in various fields.
Jazz Ascona aims to extend this initiative to graphic communication, journalism, photography as well as other areas, thereby enabling future professionals and talents to practice their skills, create contacts and most importantly experience the reality of an internationally renowned festival from within.
A unique initiative, to boost young talents and their development at 360°.
