The charismatic English blues singer, Dana Gillespie, began her artistic career in the late 1960s in the Swinging London and has been going strong for the past sixty years. Her international career started in 1971 thanks to the success of her role as Mary Magdalene in the first London production of the Jesus Christ Superstar musical. She is also known as an actress (for example, she performed in The Hound of the Baskervilles,) and throughout her music career she has recorded more than 60 albums, collaborating with artists such as David Bowie, Jimmy Page, and Mick Jagger. She is also interested in Indian music and has performed for Sai Baba, in front of one million people. In 1997 she had the honor of accompanying Bob Dylan on an English tour. Gillespie is a real force of nature and will present a captivating program of boogie and blues, her real musical passion.
