He is an extremely versatile artist: trombone player, trumpeter, horn player, singer, and arranger, Michael Supnick is a renowned American jazz musician, naturalized Italian citizen, who lives in Rome. Well-known also outside of the Italian jazz scene – where he is highly appreciated – Supnick was trained as a big band jazz musician. In Italy for over 20 years, he has become one of the leading figures of New Orleans jazz, but not only. He is known for his skills as talented instrumentalist and entertainer and throughout his career he has performed with renowned artists from the swinging jazz scene such as Lino Patruno, Dick Sudhalter, Renzo Arbore, Ed Polcer, Romano Mussolini, and Jimmy La Rocca. He has also appeared various on various occasions on Italian TV and leads the Sweetwater Jazz Band, which he founded in 1996. At JazzAscona he will perform with the Gotha Swing Band that brings together the best of Rome’s jazz.
