Cleo & Jan Luley's Lagniappe

A soft voice with a soul and blues vibe: the enchanting Cleo at JazzAscona

Dates: 21-24.6, 2018

Cleo & Jan Luley

Her music is a deep breath that carries the intensity of blues and soul, her voice is soft and sensual. Cleo certainly is a promising star among young European singers. A violinist as well, her background includes experiences as a gospel choir singer, slide guitar lessons from her dad, and prolonged stays in New Orleans, where she studied with Donald Harrison Jr., Christian Scott and Derek Douget and where her music career took off.  She will be in Ascona together with renowned pianist Jan Luley, who also worked with Cleo on her debut album Let Them Talk, as both musician and producer. The album was nominated for the 2017 Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik.
