Dates: 29-30.6

Serena Brancale

Returning to JazzAscona after her initial success in 2015 with her debut Galleggiare, 27-year-old, Apulian musician, singer, and composer Serena Brancale presents Vita d’artista, her second album. Produced by Nicolas Gilliet, recorded in November 2017 at the Canaa studios in Losone, it was released in the spring of 2018 and includes 10 songs penned by Brancale, a Prince cover, and an original song composed by Nicholas Payton, with Serena Brancale’s lyrics.
Vita d’artista is a reflection of the musician’s exceptional talent: her chords resound with an inclination to jazz that travels towards and beyond other acoustic territories. Serena’s music crosses genre boundaries, skilfully moving across pop, jazz, r&b and soul. She is accompanied by one of the most renowned international funk drummers, Dario Panza, and two experienced jazzists such as synth player Domenico Sanna and saxophonist Alfonso Deidda.
