IMEP – Paris College of Music presents Latitudes: a quintet between groove and hard bop
JazzAscona is pleased to collaborate with IMEP – Paris College of Music this year, a prestigious Parisian school specializing in jazz and contemporary music and a member of the Berklee Global Partners network of the Berklee College of Music in Boston. As part of this collaboration, the festival will host a band composed of students from the institution for a few days. Latitudes is an eclectic quintet whose language ranges from groove music to influences of Chick Corea, with references to the hard bop of Art Blakey. The ensemble brings together saxophone, piano and guitar, supported by a solid rhythm section. Through a varied repertoire, the group weaves together the different influences of its members, creating a personal and recognizable sound.
