Silvan Zingg, the “Swiss ambassador of boogie-woogie to the world”
Silvan Zingg, a much-loved artist among JazzAscona audiences, began improvising on his mother’s piano as a child. At 18, he performed at the “Masters of Boogie Woogie Night” in Charleston, South Carolina. Today, he is considered one of the best-known boogie-woogie pianists in Europe. In over 30 years of his career, he has had the pleasure of performing in more than 40 countries. His repertoire spans boogie-woogie, blues, classic jazz, and swing. “Silvan plays as if he came from St. Louis!” rock’n’roll legend Chuck Berry said of him after a concert together. In 2011, Silvan Zingg also had the honor of sharing the stage of Stravinski Hall at the Montreux Jazz Festival with B.B. King. At JazzAscona 2026, he will appear both as a soloist (June 25 – July 4) and in a quartet (July 1–3).
