Federico Zaltron: the violin with the manouche soul
Federico Zaltron, a JazzAscona regular and Italian violinist, returns this year to celebrate manouche jazz, performing in a duo with guitarist Duved Dunayevsky during the first part of the festival and with virtuoso Pablo Lopez (guitar & banjo) in the second. Much loved by audiences, Zaltron has received a solid musical education that allowed him to deepen his knowledge of jazz and classical music in Vicenza, Milan, and at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana, fostering a strong interest in musical research. Over the course of his career, he has collaborated with numerous ensembles, participated in festivals, recordings, and documentaries, and pursued personal projects ranging from contemporary jazz to manouche, including his solo explorations dedicated to Thelonious Monk.
