JazzAscona Becomes an Album
JazzAscona continues to live on through music on record. On 25 September, Cold Plunge Records released Live at JazzAscona: The Music of Gregg Hill, recorded live during the festival’s 42nd edition.
The album features a lineup of New Orleans musicians led by drummer Adonis Rose, alongside vocalist Phillip Manuel, Rex Gregory, Ashlin Parker, Miles Berry, Seth Finch and Max Moran.
The album brings together four compositions by Gregg Hill, complemented by Bop Be by Keith Jarrett and the classic Lush Life by Billy Strayhorn. Nearly 48 minutes of music recorded in front of JazzAscona’s international audience capture the spontaneity and interaction that make live performances so special.
The collaboration with Cold Plunge Records goes beyond this release. The American label, already a JazzAscona partner, will return for the 2027 edition, continuing a project that combines support for the festival with music production.
