Manon Mullener, a European voice of contemporary jazz

Since 2023, pianist Manon Mullener has become a regular guest at JazzAscona, a sign of the attention with which the festival follows the career of this remarkable young artist from Fribourg (CH). Leader of a quintet she founded in 2022, as well as a versatile and curious composer and pianist, Manon weaves her notes between jazz, Latin music, and melodies from her native Switzerland, creating – with an intimate and vibrant style – compositions “that are like travel diaries, where echoes of scenes from around the world mingle” (Jazz Magazine). The young pianist and composer, a true promise of European jazz, strengthened her international reputation with the 2025 release of STORIES, an album enthusiastically received for its infectious energy and its original fusion of modern jazz and Afro-Cuban rhythms. An artistic success that has opened the doors of major European festivals and that this year is crowned with the Swiss Jazz Award 2026, a prestigious recognition that will be presented to her in Ascona.
