Funk straight to the heart: Radius return, winners of the 2026 Audience Award

After winning over audiences at JazzAscona last year, the winners of the AET Audience Award, Radius, return by popular demand. One of Germany’s most established and electrifying funk bands, the group has been setting stages across Europe alight for over ten years with a sharp, infectious sound: a powerful horn section, grooving guitar and vibrant keyboard textures create music that goes straight to the heart and immediately gets people dancing. The band features highly experienced musicians from the German and European music scene, active in renowned ensembles and collaborations such as the WDR Bigband, Die Fantastischen Vier, Heavytones, HR Bigband, Chris Potter, Bob Mintzer, Tom Gaebel, Jamal Thomas and Jeff Cascaro. On their latest album Tight Game, the two leaders Jonas Vogelsang and Stefan Rey have further enriched the band’s sound by incorporating soul, jazz and pop influences.
