Swing Revolution: the Syncopation Society Orchestra transforms Ascona into a grand vintage ballroom
The Syncopation Society Orchestra, one of the most vibrant ensembles on the Berlin jazz scene, brings the authentic energy of early jazz to JazzAscona. Born within the city’s dynamic swing community, the orchestra reflects the young and innovative spirit of this cultural movement. Its repertoire celebrates the great bands of the 1920s and 1930s, with original arrangements by masters such as Fletcher Henderson, Luis Russell, and Duke Ellington, performed with a historically informed yet surprisingly contemporary approach. With its ten musicians, the SSO is one of the few European ensembles capable of recreating the spirit of early jazz with such freshness, precision, and personality. The concerts on July 3 and 4 promise to transform Ascona into an authentic vintage ballroom, filled with irresistible swing, timeless elegance, and an overwhelming desire to dance and have fun.
