By popular demand, after their overwhelming success in 2025, The Big Five return to JazzAscona with the charismatic singer and dancer Nicolle Rochelle. Considered one of the best European bands inspired by the warm and wild sounds of 1930s and ’40s Harlem and Chicago jazz, the group combines an explosive rhythm section, fiery horns, and dynamic arrangements, exploring both well-known and lesser-known repertoire from the golden age of swing. Back with them – much to the audience’s delight – is the wonderful Nicolle Rochelle, an eclectic artist: singer, dancer, actress, and activist, who has starred on Broadway and been acclaimed in Europe for her portrayal of Josephine Baker in Jérôme Savary’s show. Today, she performs worldwide, spanning jazz, blues, R&B, and hip-hop, bringing her magnetic presence and total passion for the arts to the stage. A performance that promises sparks.
